In just two weeks Blackthorn Music Festival is returning to Whitebottom Farm for its 8th year. In the past, the festival has played host to some of the best upcoming talent from the surrounding Manchester area and further afield in the UK, while always topping the line up with unforgettable headliners.

Over bank holiday weekend, Neighbourhood Weekender came back to Warrington’s Victoria Park for its second year, bringing headliners George Ezra, Richard Ashcroft, Primal Scream, The Vaccines and many more artists for the two-day event. This year, there was no genre favoured in the lineup, but instead, a wide variation of artists were carefully chosen and the festival brought together some of the best musicians from across the board, catering to everyone’s taste. The diverse line-up, along with the well-timed sets made sure you could see every band you wanted to, while also discovering new artists and having a dance in the sun (of course)

Every year I look forward to Dot to Dot Festival, I always find it’s a great place to discover new artists, while also watching some of my favourite emerging bands. The metropolitan festival takes place over three days, one day in Manchester, one in Bristol and the last in Nottingham. Each day taking over a number of venues in the city and showcasing the same headliners but also a further line up of artists local to that area.

This year the lineup featured headliners Crystal Fighters, Jordan Rakei, Swim Deep and loads more, but I decided to see which new, emerging bands I could discover on the smaller stages
