Having just released their second single, Lonely Game, last month, China Moon came to The Castle Hotel in Manchester for a sold-out show on Friday 17th January.
Support on the night came from Kyris, Plastic Daisies and Glove, a female two-piece who fiercely consumed the room with their energy-fuelled performance.
China Moon were on stage next. The Manchester-based quartet have an indie inspired sound, taking on tones of pop and lead by effortless vocals, steady drums and distorted, twanging guitars reminiscent of an eastern-influenced sound.
The band introduced their set with Nebula and Lonely Game, the only tracks which are currently released. The music absorbed the venue as the band continued with Lonely Game, Free Fall and closed the night with Like That, which closed the night.
Mellow tones captivated the room while the audience swayed along with rhythmic beats and reverberating baselines carry the music through gentle verses and crescendoing instrumentals.
