Dot to Dot is a metropolitan festival, taking place in Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham over the last May bank holiday weekend. For me, Dot to Dot always feels like the start of summer, it’s always one of the first UK festivals, the sun is always shining (at least when I have been) and I spend the day wandering around Manchester and watching my favourite bands.
This year, the entirety of Manchester will be filled with music fans. The Albert Hall and The Ritz will showcase some truly massive performances and you can head to Jimmy’s, The Castle and Night People for more intimate sets (plus loads more venues- see here).
At the top of this year’s line up are alternative-dance group Crystal fighters, bringing feel-good summer vibes to the festival. Jordan Rakei brings his soulful jazz fusion and Swim Deep return with sun-kissed indie sounds.
Dot to Dot also features many emerging musicians, each city hosting a number of new local artists as well as the better-known headliners- making the festival the prime place to discover your new favourite band.
The annual event will be coming to Manchester on Friday 24 May so don’t miss it- get tickets here.
