Celebrating LGBT and female musicians, Switch On! Took over Gulliver’s with a might of acoustic music.
The evening saw sets from four artists, opening was Libby O’Brien who was followed by Jasmine Page. Jasmine performed original tracks with a soft but powerful vocal complimented by gentle guitar picking. Recently releasing a single, Now You’re Gone, Jasmine is planning to release an EP soon and played songs which will feature on it, also covering Post Malones track Stay nearing the end of the set.
Ellis and Evie were next to play, taking well-known songs and putting a twist of jazz into the popular music.
Closing the night were s group of four female vocalists, joined by a ukulele. The group, named The Four Corners, performed an acapella set with strums of the ukulele in the background. They performed covers but made the songs their own with the layering and dynamics of their harmonies.
I don’t go to acoustic nights very often but the tone of the night and the calming atmosphere is something I could get used to.
